Applied Metals Technologies, Ltd. Strengthens Presence in Northeast Ohio

CLEVELAND, Ohio — April 2, 2026

Applied Metals Technologies (AMT), providing custom machining, coating and polishing of premium aluminum wheels serving automotive, commercial vehicle, and aerospace sectors, announced plans to expand its operations. The company will bring new wheel production onshore, hiring 152 new positions while retaining 32 jobs. The Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) approved the project for a tax credit during its Ohio Tax Credit Authority meeting earlier this week.

With two existing locations in Northeast Ohio, AMT — operating under the business name Pro Performance Wheels — will establish a new wheel casting facility in Bedford Heights. Focused on vertical integration, the new casting facility will enable the company to undertake end-to-end full wheel production from raw material to finished product. Once operational, AMT will cast and finish wheels for high-end OEM platforms as well as high-performance military, aerospace, and aftermarket vehicle applications.

"We are excited to bring wheel manufacturing to Bedford Heights, Ohio where we will not only provide jobs, but also inspire the next generation of engineers, designers, machinists, and wheel enthusiasts. Pro Performance Wheels will become the only OEM and aftermarket wheel manufacturer in the United States producing fully finished wheels entirely under one roof."

— Lou Virost, President, Pro Performance Wheels

An economic development team consisting of the City of Bedford Heights, ODOD, JobsOhio, and Team NEO assisted the company as it considered its location options for this project.

"The City of Bedford Heights is pleased to welcome Applied Metal Technologies as they expand their operations and invest in our community. This project brings high-quality advanced manufacturing jobs and strengthens the region's position in automotive, aerospace, and emerging technologies. We especially value AMT's strong commitment to community engagement — from participating in career days and providing STEM demonstrations in our schools to offering scholarships, trade-school funding, and clearly defined career pathways for local students. Their investment goes beyond facilities; it represents a meaningful investment in our residents and their futures."

— Mayor Phillip Stevens, City of Bedford Heights

"The expansion of Applied Metals Technologies is a major win for Cuyahoga County. This investment strengthens our manufacturing sector, supports local families, and brings new opportunities to Bedford Heights and the surrounding communities. It's a great example of how strategic growth and innovation help keep our economy moving."

— Chris Ronayne, Cuyahoga County Executive

"Together with our local partners, Ohio Department of Development and JobsOhio, we are proud to support the expansion of a woman-owned enterprise that is bringing operations back to the U.S. and deepening its investment in Northeast Ohio. This project underscores the strength of our manufacturing legacy, the depth of our talent, and the infrastructure that continues to position this region for growth."

— Matt Dolan, Chief Executive Officer, Team NEO
